“These lions are not living things the people here say they are demons sent from hell to kill people.” King Yashwardhan said.
“I don’t believe in demons, I believe in beasts dwelling inside humans and animals.” Mudit smiled.
“Here…” the king pushed the tray of sherbet towards him. “Have a glass and you will ask for another.”
“It does not have any special intoxicating ingredients I hope and pray!” he chuckled.
The king nodded in disagreement. “No! That’s mixed only after the permission of the guest! Except of course on the day of Holi, drink and eat on your own risk on that day.”
He picked up the glass with pink liquid, it tasted divine. It had the aroma of cardamom and some unknown herbs, was rich with taste of almonds and other delicious dry fruits.
It cooled his burning body instantly.
