The spirits of darkness and light

They were walking toward the palace side by side. Tall, gigantic trees were bordered on both side of once wide now a narrow street.
Vines were dangling from the trees some were so covered in vines, tied together that it was impossible to identify them separately. The stone paved road has given away to nature moss, small shrubs were sprouting up from the cracks.

The sun was slowly setting toward the western horizon but it was still hours before dusk. The trees offered a perfect green canopy for the road, with very little openings, from which a deep blue sky was peeking at them.
The rays of sun were reflecting on the glass windows of the palace, giving it a sparkling radiance.
