The palace
piece 7

They reached it after walking for half an hour.

“This entire portion was palace garden the land is the rest of the valley. They own this whole valley and some of those buildings up there.”

Nikhil pointed his fingers at some small structures up in the hill. “There are temples, hunting lodges and some other small buildings.”

They started to ascend the sprawling stairs leading to the huge courtyard of the palace. A man came out from one of the outhouses. He was a very tall man with appropriate body.

“Raju chacha is almost seven feet tall.” Nikhil remarked in a low tone.

He saluted Debdeep and blessed Nikhil when he bowed down to touch his feet.

“I have made your living arrangements in one of the outhouses sir the one right beside me. So that you can call us any time you need.” he said politely.

“I have cleaned up the palace you can start your work from tomorrow. The new manager will be here at ten with his set of keys.”

“You are going to stay with us tonight Nikhil, leave at dawn.” He turned to Nikhil and smiled. It was quite clear from the way he talked with Nikhil that they were quite close.

“Come sir, I will show you your quarters, so you can get settled there.” Raju took him to his bungalow. It was a small bungalow, lavishly built, with latest equipments.
