The spirits of darkness and light
The dark lands
It was a three storey building, built of gray sandstones with red windows and doors surrounded by huge, sprawling lawn that ended in woods. A pond at rear end and a small canal that was given the look of a river made the building look gorgeous. A small wooden bridge here, a jetty there; few stone stairs down to the water…. Everything was artistic.
The woods surrounding the mansion was not natural either, the trees were planted by the ex owner, the owner who disappeared mysteriously fifty years ago. He planted it in an organized manner, choosing the trees with care so that the middle of the woods was thick whereas the borders were thinner.
If you want a walk in the wood keep to the outskirts, the mansion was visible from quite a distance inside the woods. If you want adventure venture deep, but be careful, you may get lost. Whereas if you keep to the fringes of the wood you can take a full stroll along the perimeter of the wooden land without any fear of getting lost, all you will have to have is sense of direction.
Sadly the mansion earned really dark reputation after the mysterious disappearance of the owner. It was empty for decades but everything in it was intact, undisturbed. Nature was the only trespasser of those acres of deserted land. The villagers didn’t even flitter around the mansion, or the woods, they were and are dead certain that they are haunted by evil spirits.
Evil spirits summoned from hell by the erstwhile owner. They were also sanguine that he was killed by the very spirits he dared to play with.
